| Dear Sivashanmugam Twenty- month-old Khushi from Beekampura village, Rajasthan was once a malnourished child. |  |
| Her health deteriorated rapidly and she was taken to the district hospital in Tonk, Rajasthan, where she was found to be severely malnourished. Her weight was just 7 kgs. She was eventually admitted to Save the Children supported Malnutrition Treatment Centre (MTC). With timely medical aid and appropriate nutrition provided at the centre, Khushi recuperated within 10 days. And now, Khushi weighs around 7.6 kgs. Khushi and many more children like her fail to receive crucial medical care needed at the time of child birth due to lack of proper medical support, absence of anganwadi centres and trained healthcare professionals. Like Khushi, there are many children in different corners of India, who are severely malnourished and are deprived of proper care and treatment after birth.
